You will be putting together a scrapbook of this school year. Your scrapbook must be neat, colorful, uniquely designed and include the following items. For each item, you need a drawing, a photograph or some other form of illustration. You also need 3-5 sentences for each item. You can not just have pages covered with pictures!! The finished product must be at least 13 pages.<br />

There will probably be at least 2 quizzes during the week over what we&#8217;ve read. In conjunction with the WWII background information, we will be looking at how propaganda was used during the war and discussing the different types of propaganda.  The students will be tested over the types of propaganda and completing a project at a later date. </p>
<p>We will be working on adjectives and adverbs. </p>
<p>We will begin a unit on genres of literature. </p>
<p>We will begin a project, called &#8220;Create a New World,&#8221; that they will be working on for the remainder of this grading period.</p>

<p>Jan. 16-Quiz over Scenes 1 and 2 of the play&#8211;Many did poorly on this quiz as well, which would indicate that they are not paying attention as we read and discuss the play. </p>
<p>January 18th- We will be going to the library.  There will be an AR requirement for this 9 weeks.  I am going to give the students the choice of completing AR by earning a designated amount of points or by completing the novel descriptions as I have required in the past. </p>

We will be working really hard to get fully prepared for the CRCT.  Our main focus will be test-taking strategies and reading comprehension.  We will be finishing the play based on the life of Anne Frank and working on our propaganda projects.

<p>We will be working really hard to get fully prepared for the CRCT.  Our main focus will be test-taking strategies and reading comprehension.  We will be finishing the play based on the life of Anne Frank and working on our propaganda projects. </p>
<p> We are sending a parent letter home today (March 16) regarding the dates of the CRCT.  Please be sure that you have no appointments scheduled for your child on these dates.  It is very important that each child is present for each test!  Each child that does not pass the Reading and/or Math sections of the CRCT will be required to attend summer school. </p>
